What is the Somerset Household Support Fund Project?
The Somerset Household Support Fund is designed to provide short-term financial support (from December 20121 – end March 2022) to vulnerable households which are struggling to afford the cost of food, energy and water bills and other essentials.
The scheme is funded by the DWP and administered by Somerset County Council. The fund is being distributed by Citizens Advice in Somerset on behalf of the County Council.
How does this service differ from general advice?
This is a financial support fund that is not part of the Citizens Advice general service.
What is on offer?
We can provide financial help with:
- Energy bills
- Water bills
- Other essentials to cook, keep warm and keep well
How do I access this service?
If you live in South Somerset and would like to access this service please make an application online or call Somerset County Council on 0300 790 6275. Alternatively, there are lots of community groups, village agents, health coaches and other support organisations that know about this fund and will be able to assist you to apply through the web portal.
